The First Five Program Terms

Effective Date: August 7, 2026

These Program Terms apply to participation in The First Five, a career-development program offered by Launching Her. By enrolling in the program, paying program fees, or participating in any program session or activity, the participant and, when applicable, the person purchasing the program on the participant’s behalf agree to these Program Terms.

These Program Terms supplement the general Launching Her Terms of Use. If there is a conflict concerning participation in The First Five, these Program Terms will control.

1. The Program

The First Five is a career-readiness and professional-development program designed to help college women prepare for the transition from college into the workforce and build a strong foundation for the first years of their careers.

The Founding Cohort is scheduled TBD, with virtual cohort sessions generally held every other week.

The program may include:

  • Virtual cohort sessions

  • Career strategy and job-search guidance

  • Résumé and LinkedIn development

  • Networking and relationship-building strategies

  • Interview preparation

  • Workplace communication and professional skills

  • Leadership development

  • Early-career strategy

  • Practical exercises, worksheets, templates, and resources

  • The First Five playbook

  • Access to guest speakers, mentors, advisors, or experienced professionals when available

  • Peer discussion and cohort community

Specific topics, speakers, resources, session dates, and program components may change as the program evolves.

2. Student Participation

The First Five is designed for the student or recent graduate herself to participate actively.

A parent, guardian, family member, or other person may pay the program fee on a participant’s behalf. However, purchasing the program does not transfer participation rights to the purchaser.

The participant is responsible for her own:

  • Attendance

  • Participation

  • Career decisions

  • Job applications

  • Résumé and LinkedIn content

  • Employer communications

  • Networking

  • Interview preparation

  • Follow-through on program recommendations

The purpose of the program is to support the participant in developing her own professional judgment, confidence, and independence.

3. Program Investment

The standard investment for The First Five is TBD, unless a different promotional or enrollment price is specifically offered at the time of registration.

Enrollment includes access to the program components identified in the enrollment materials for that cohort.

Additional services, individual coaching, events, assessments, or products that are not expressly included in the program may be offered separately.

4. Payment Plans

Payment plans may be available.

Participants or purchasers selecting a payment plan agree to make all scheduled payments according to the terms presented during enrollment.

Choosing a payment plan divides the cost of the program into installments; it does not convert enrollment into a month-to-month membership unless expressly stated otherwise.

Failure to make a required payment may result in suspension of access to program sessions, materials, communities, or other program benefits until the account is brought current.

5. Enrollment Commitment

Enrollment reserves a place in a limited-capacity cohort and gives the participant access to an experience delivered over multiple months.

Participants should enroll only if they intend to participate meaningfully in the program.

A participant’s decision not to attend sessions, complete activities, use program resources, or otherwise take advantage of the program does not automatically cancel her enrollment or payment obligations.

6. Refunds, Cancellations, and Withdrawals

The refund and cancellation policy is located here.

Launching Her should publish a specific refund policy before accepting paid enrollment.

7. Attendance

Participants are strongly encouraged to attend cohort sessions regularly because the program is designed as a progressive experience.

However, college schedules, internships, exams, interviews, travel, illness, and other commitments may occasionally interfere with attendance.

Unless a particular session is specifically designated as mandatory, missing a session will not by itself remove a participant from the program.

Launching Her does not guarantee that recordings or make-up sessions will be available for every missed session.

8. Schedule Changes

Launching Her may occasionally need to change:

  • Session dates

  • Session times

  • Speakers

  • Facilitators

  • Topics

  • Program sequencing

  • Technology platforms

Reasonable notice will be provided when practicable.

A change to an individual session, speaker, topic, or delivery schedule does not constitute cancellation of the overall program.

If Launching Her must make a material change to the overall program, affected participants will be informed of available options.

9. Virtual Participation and Technology

The First Five is primarily delivered virtually.

Participants are responsible for having reasonable access to:

  • A computer, tablet, or compatible device

  • Internet service

  • Email

  • Any commonly used virtual-meeting or program platform required for participation

Launching Her is not responsible for a participant’s internet outages, equipment failures, software incompatibility, campus network restrictions, or other technology issues outside Launching Her’s reasonable control.

10. Community Standards

The First Five is intended to create a professional, constructive, and supportive environment.

Participants are expected to communicate respectfully with other participants, speakers, mentors, advisors, and Launching Her representatives.

Participants may not engage in:

  • Harassment

  • Bullying

  • Threatening behavior

  • Discrimination

  • Repeated disruption

  • Personal attacks

  • Unauthorized solicitation

  • Misuse of another participant’s personal information

  • Conduct that materially interferes with another participant’s experience

Launching Her reserves the right to address inappropriate conduct and, when necessary, restrict or terminate a participant’s access to the program.

11. Confidentiality Within the Cohort

Participants may discuss personal career experiences, interviews, employers, workplace challenges, career goals, compensation expectations, or other information during cohort sessions.

Participants agree to respect the privacy of other participants and not publicly share another participant’s personal information, experiences, or statements without permission.

However, because The First Five is a group program, Launching Her cannot guarantee that another participant will maintain confidentiality.

Participants should use appropriate judgment when deciding what information to disclose.

12. Recording and Screenshots

Participants may not record, livestream, photograph, screenshot, reproduce, or publicly distribute cohort sessions or private participant discussions without prior authorization.

Launching Her may occasionally record educational portions of a session for participant access or other legitimate program purposes. Participants will be informed when appropriate.

Private participant discussions will be treated with particular care.

13. Program Materials

All original materials provided through The First Five remain the intellectual property of Launching Her or their respective licensors.

These may include:

  • The First Five playbook

  • Worksheets

  • Templates

  • Exercises

  • Presentations

  • Videos

  • Session materials

  • Assessments

  • Guides

  • Frameworks

  • Checklists

  • Career-development resources

Enrollment provides the participant with a limited license to use these materials for her personal professional development.

Participants may not sell, publish, reproduce, distribute, upload, teach, license, or commercially exploit program materials without written permission.

A parent who purchased the program may review materials with the enrolled participant but may not distribute them to others.

14. Guest Speakers, Mentors, and Advisors

The First Five may include access to executives, professionals, mentors, advisors, recruiters, or guest speakers.

Their participation may vary based on availability.

Access to a professional through the program does not create an obligation for that person or organization to:

  • Offer employment

  • Provide an internship

  • Make an introduction

  • Serve as an ongoing mentor

  • Review application materials

  • Provide a recommendation

  • Continue communication outside the program

Participants are expected to interact professionally and respect appropriate boundaries.

15. No Employment Guarantee

The First Five provides career preparation and professional-development guidance.

Participation does not guarantee a job, internship, interview, promotion, salary level, career outcome, or employer response.

Employment outcomes depend on many factors outside Launching Her’s control, including the participant’s qualifications, effort, field of study, geographic preferences, job market conditions, employer requirements, interview performance, and hiring decisions.

Launching Her is not a recruiter, staffing agency, university career center, or employment placement service.

16. Existing Internships or Job Offers

A participant may remain in The First Five even if she receives or already has an internship or full-time job offer.

The program is designed to address not only obtaining a first opportunity but also succeeding during the transition into professional life, including communication, workplace expectations, relationship-building, professional reputation, leadership development, and early-career decision-making.

Receiving an internship or job offer does not automatically terminate enrollment or create a right to a refund.

17. Career Decisions

Launching Her may offer recommendations, strategies, examples, templates, and professional-development guidance.

Participants remain responsible for determining whether any recommendation is appropriate for their individual circumstances.

Participants should independently review employment agreements, compensation packages, benefits, relocation requirements, legal documents, financial decisions, and other significant professional matters and seek qualified professional advice when appropriate.

18. Participant Work and Accuracy

Participants are responsible for ensuring that information they provide to employers or other third parties is truthful and accurate.

Launching Her does not endorse:

  • Fabricating qualifications

  • Misrepresenting experience

  • Falsifying résumé information

  • Misrepresenting academic credentials

  • Submitting work that falsely represents the participant’s accomplishments

Feedback provided on résumés, LinkedIn profiles, applications, or other career materials does not relieve the participant of responsibility for their accuracy.

19. Removal From the Program

Launching Her may suspend or terminate participation when a participant:

  • Seriously or repeatedly violates these Program Terms

  • Engages in harassment or threatening conduct

  • Violates another participant’s privacy

  • Distributes proprietary program materials

  • Records sessions without authorization

  • Engages in unlawful activity related to the program

  • Fails to meet agreed payment obligations

  • Materially disrupts the learning environment

When appropriate, Launching Her may first provide a warning or opportunity to correct the issue.

Serious misconduct may result in immediate removal.

Any financial consequences of removal will be governed by the applicable refund and cancellation policy and applicable law.

20. Parent Communications

Launching Her recognizes that parents or family members may fund participation.

However, adult participants retain ownership of their career development and personal information.

Payment for a participant’s enrollment does not automatically give the purchaser access to private communications between the participant and Launching Her, private cohort discussions, individual assessments, or other confidential participant information.

Launching Her may provide parents with general information about the program without disclosing confidential participant information.

21. Changes to the Program

Launching Her may improve, update, expand, reorganize, or modify program content when doing so is reasonably intended to improve the participant experience or reflect changes in the employment market.

The program description represents the anticipated structure of The First Five but does not guarantee that every individual topic, speaker, activity, or resource will remain unchanged.

22. Force Majeure

Launching Her will not be responsible for delays or disruptions caused by circumstances reasonably beyond its control, including severe weather, natural disasters, widespread internet or technology failures, government actions, emergencies, illness, or similar events.

When practicable, Launching Her will attempt to reschedule affected programming or provide an appropriate alternative.

23. Acceptance of Program Terms

By completing enrollment, submitting payment, or participating in The First Five, the participant and any person purchasing enrollment on her behalf acknowledge that they have read and agree to these Program Terms, the Launching Her Terms of Use, and any applicable enrollment and payment terms.
